Excerpts from presentation: Animations

The first clip begins by introducing the experimental finding of how the oscillations of the Min-Proteins aid in the location of the mid-cell plane.

The second clip introduces the key Min-proteins and the core mechanisms in which they interact with each other resulting in the oscillations along the membrane.

The third clip simplifies the model from a 3D geometry to a 1D model. In order to write down the nonlinear reaction diffusion equations that govern the dynamics of the system, this clip goes through each term of the equations and illustrates the interactions clearly.
